This course has been fab. It's really engaging and not like any other CPD I have done before. I have been using all the techniques daily and it has really helped me grow my confidence.
Before I wasn't sure if I wanted to stay in the profession long term as I found surgery so stressful. Now I'm much more relaxed and taking on more difficult procedures. My partner has noticed I'm more relaxed at home and also more confident about non work stuff.

As an experienced vet and surgeon it was very frustrating to me that after 20 years of practice I was still having issues around self doubt and fear of difficult surgeries. I thought these feelings would go away.
This course has really helped me appreciate that this is normal and that they may never go away but its ok to feel these things as long as you just observe the thoughts and don't let them take you into a downwards spiral.
I am already feeling much happier and more confident. Thank you so much for your help. I'm ready to fly again now and move towards one of my values to challenge myself.
I have greatly enjoyed this course - the material is extremely well delivered, clear and easy to access.
The exercises made me think during and between modules! Downloading the mindfulness audio files onto my phone has meant that I can carry them with me and use them in quiet times and this has helped me get into the habit of meditating and reshaping my anxious brain, in the knowledge I always have a safe quiet "place" to go to.
I have really enjoyed this course and found it to be super helpful to be able to reflect back on times when I have faced difficulties at work in the past and work past these.
The other day I put myself forward to do a c-section when I could have very easily stepped back, which is something I would never normally do!
I plan to keep revisiting the lessons on this course whenever I need a reminder and I hope that with time the techniques I have been taught to help manage anxiety will become second nature.
I feel better equipped to attempt surgical procedures I would previously tried to delegate to colleagues and able to support other veterinary surgeons within our team.
There are fewer surgeries now when I feel "I wish I hadn't started this!"; I have a calmer, positive problem-solving approach and more self-compassion when procedures are challenging.
This was such a great course! and I love how it was tied into veterinary medicine directly.

My surgical anxiety isn't cured but it gets better each day. I no longer ruminate on potential outcomes and can discharge patients without the 'what if' feelings that used to plague my evenings.
Thank you for the course. The techniques have helped with many things in life not just surgical confidence. I feel like I've got tools and know how to process difficult emotions rather than shy away from them and ideas of ways to help myself move forward and be a less stressed, more confident person.
